Our inventory comes from business closures, facility decommissions, equipment upgrades, and industrial surplus lots. When a lab shuts down or a company liquidates its assets, that equipment has to go somewhere. We make sure it ends up somewhere useful. Every piece we acquire is evaluated and listed with honest descriptions so buyers know exactly what they're getting.
How we started
Sporadic Surplus grew out of something simple - finding valuable equipment in places most people walk past. It started with pawn shops and thrift stores: buying specialty instruments and industrial hardware that were bound for the trash, and getting it to the buyers who actually needed them. Seven years later that same approach drives everything we do, just at a much larger scale.
Specialty & hard-to-find equipment
A significant portion of what we carry is equipment you simply won't find anywhere else - discontinued instruments, legacy industrial components, and specialty tools that are no longer in production but are still very much needed. When a facility needs a specific part and the manufacturer stopped making it a decade ago, the options are usually limited. We fill that gap.
